June 2016 Income/Expenses
My computer decided to die a couple of days ago so it’s a late Income/expenses report this month.
June was a month of big change for both myself and the country as a whole. I started a ‘new’ job which was actually just going back to my previous employer but in a more senior position. It means I’m back on the motorbike for my commute.. 25 minutes door-to-door and £6 per week in petrol. Being home earlier has already started having a big impact on my happiness and having time to get the evening’s bets on. I placed a £200 bet on the referendum result as was totally convinced what the outcome would be. Needless to say I lost that bet… but I wasn’t exactly sad to see the money go. I know many of the personal finance blogs are already examining the result and implications in detail however that probably gives a good indication of how I voted and it’s the last I’ll mention of it on here.
From Matched Betting I made £1,877.83 in June. That brings my total profit from Matched Betting over the past 7 months to a pretty staggering £12k! I discuss some of the bets I place and methods involved over at www.MatchedBettingGuy.com if you’re interested in finding out more.
Another good month for Kindle income despite not actually doing any work on it since March. I received £2,178 from Kindle in June. This is money generated in the month of April but paid with a 2 month delay. I’ve had several people ask me about starting a Kindle business however I’d direct all questions to Huw @ FFb40 who is far more experienced and knowledgeable in this area. I hear he has a course coming out soon.. if he ever finishes it!
I’ve also started building up an affiliate income stream from the Matched Betting guide sites I recommend. I personally use a couple of guide sites and truly believe they are well worth the investment. Affiliate income for the month of June was £434.82.
And finally I had a surprise land in my account in the form of a Google Adsense payment. You need to reach £60 before Google will payout and I think I last had one of these about a year ago so it’s taken that long to generate enough to reach the threshold. Google were kind enough to send me £63.01.

Increased wedding expenses this month as I had to catch up on a missed month’s contribution to keep our savings on budget to meet the estimated cost next April. Other than that nothing out of the ordinary, some nice increases in ISA and pension pots although these may be short-lived gains. I’m also growing cash in bank at the moment incase wedding spending goes over budget and to pay for the honeymoon! Once those are both paid for any left over will be chucked at the mortgage in our continued plan to have it paid off within the next 8 years.

Hi Guy,
That is an incredible month, congratulation! A really good rate and a good way to hit FI fast. Just out of interest, how long do you spend on matched betting each month? I keep thinking about it from time to time but decide its probably too much effort for the rewards, but you made me think twice with that amount! Sensible to build up the contingency for the wedding.
Cheers, and keep up the good work!
Thanks Rob.
It’s difficult to provide an accurate answer as I tend to dip in and out of matched betting during the evenings & weekends. I’d guess if I were to dedicate blocks of time purely to it, it would be about 1 hour on weekdays + Sunday and 3 hours on Saturday. Obviously alot depends on what offers are on for which days etc.
Hi Guy,
Thanks – interesting as for the effort put in that is really a huge return – makes me think I ought to look into it!
It’s certainly worth it! Take a look at http://www.MatchedBettingGuy.com where I go into more details of the tactics.
Another fantastic month for the income – well done Guy!
Thanks Weenie!
Good update Guy!
With the turmoil I am guessing some UKer’s would like to exit the brexit. Ex-brexit.
Hah! It seems to have died down a bit now but will no doubt kick off again when we give formal notification to leave.
Nice month Guy
Where you thinking of going on the Honeymoon then, sounds like its going to be pretty awesome if you’re stock piling 15K in the bank for it? :D
We’re thinking North America, travelling down both coasts.
Congrats on the Google Adsense payout. That’s about the hardest way to earn money online (or so it feels!)
Indeed! I get about one £60 per year
