June 2018 Networth update

June 2018 Networth update

May/June have been really tough months for me and so I was too busy to post an update the end of May. A couple of months ago my mother was diagnosed with cancer, initially it was just a single area however in mid-May we found out it was spreading. My parents have lived abroad for 10 years now in a large house which requires alot of maintaince so I flew over there at the start of June to visit them and help out with some of the more manual tasks. I’m back home now and mother begins treatment next week which will mean we are in a holding pattern for a few months to see what happens. Just to add to my worries, last week we came home to one of my cats bleeding from the eye. It looked like he has been in a fight (probably with his sister) and despite rushing him to the emergency vets at midnight it was agreed the eye was lost and would have to be removed. My cat is now sporting a very fashionable cone while he adjusts to life with no depth perception. When it rains it pours.

Work

Work have been fantastic this month with everything that’s gone on, they’ve given me time off to quickly fly out to see parents and for the emergency vet visits. I get the impression that my team at work are struggling to think of things to fill the day with. We’ve got no major projects on and everything is just ticking along. This always worries us as it usually means redundancy is just round the corner. Personally I’m not mega worried though as I’m relativly sure my specific role would be safe and I’ve got enough funds saved alongside other sources of income to support myself should I need to leave. I’m not sure if I would even look for another job if I were made redundant, perhaps just continue on with Matched Betting while putting more time into increasing affiliate income and perhaps finally restarting Kindle publishing again.

Life

I think I’ve already covered that.

Money

I’ve got huge amounts of money tied up in bookie accounts at the moment while the world cup is on. Most of these bets are in the outright market which means they lock up thousands of pounds until mid-July which means I’ve not had much spare to invest. Once the world cup has finished I’ll take alot of that money out again and stick it into the S&S ISA. June also paid my work bonus. It’s funny how in other years this would have been a big issue however the amount is much smaller than what I can make in matched betting every month and so it’s barely gets noticed amongst the other cashflows.

Income/Networth

From Matched Betting I made £2,742.86 in June. This figure is in reality alot higher however I still have alot of those world cup bets open so will carry them over to July. As always I go into more detail of what bets I’ve done to make that profit on Matched Betting Guy Blog.

Affiliate income paid at the end of June was £223.87. This is all income from recommending the Matched Betting guide sites I use like Profit Accumulator.

  1. Great to see you back and posting again but really sorry to hear your news. Makes you realise what’s important when things like this happen

I really should look at matched betting at some point you are making serious money out of this

  2. Hi Guy

Just catching up on my blog reading.

Sorry to hear about your mum and all the best for her treatment/recovery.

Another incredible month re MB profits and it’s great that you are in a position where you don’t have to consider looking for work in the event of redundancy. As you say, there’s always the Kindle publishing to fall back on but MB alone will be enough for you in the meantime.

  3. Sorry to hear about your mum, but I;m glad you are back to posting.

The MB profits look very good and I’m happy the net worth numbers are growing. Good luck to you, mate.
